Miss You FERG!

My Brother My Best Friend, passed away in 1992. Christmas will never be the same without him as he brought so much Love and Joy to each Christmas. He loved surprises and giving. One year none of us had much and he invented this gift giving where we clipped pictures out of a magazine of what we would get each other if money was no object.
It was such a memorable Christmas as everyone enjoyed seeing what they would have gotten if there was money.
Another time, it was the holiday season and he told me from his apartment he could see homeless people washing their hands at the outside faucet of the church across the street so he took a bar of soap over and put it near the faucet.
He was such a kind and thoughtful person, always thinking of others. He lifted you up when you were down and stood by you when you needed someone. He was my very best friend and I miss him so very much...
This is the End of my 12 day Christmas blog, hope you enjoyed each day of sharing!

SANTA Makeover!

My friend and I bought these Santas done by Connie Krizner in 1990. They were pretty pricey little things. The Before photograph is my friend's Santa after spending time in her basement. The mice got into the Christmas box where he was and as you can see they loved him. He must have made good bedding. They took his beard, almost all his cotton batting clothing. Just look at those bare pipe cleaner arms! She gave him to me one day and asked if I could fix him somehow and I never really replied.
I redressed him with some dyed cotton batting, gave him a real sheep's wool beard, a new stocking hat and a brand new jute belt. He still holds the same sheep and Christmas tree.
I put him in a special Christmas box with the Before photograph glued inside the lid and gave him back to her for Christmas...

Wonderful Santa!

Isn't he just WONDERFUL? Why is it when you're out shopping for others you always see things that speak to you and you want to buy them for yourself? Happens to me every year and this year was no different. I saw this Santa and just had to have him. He really spoke to me, saying how nice he would look near my goose feather tree and I was just melted away by his colors and his old German Santa appearance.

Good Neighbor Christmas Card

Just moved into this neighborhood and it's nice to find good neighbors no matter where you live. I wanted to send them a unique Christmas card so I was up early on our first skiff of snow, took a photograph of their house to make them this card. I took the photograph into my Microsoft Digital Program after I had edited the size color, I textured it with a setting called Poster, added an edge design which I softened. I then glittered the wreath, put a little on the tree and even less on the soft edges. Lastly I added a sparkle jewel on the light fixture by the door. This idea made a unique personal card for a good neighbor!

Postal Mishap!!!

OH MY! If only this Christmas card could talk...
This was a special handmade card made from a photograph that I textured and printed out on my computer. I then added glitter and a wee tiny sparkle jewel. It turned out very nice and I was very pleased. I made it with such care for a special friend and her family. She sent me this photograph of the condition it arrived. I immediately reproduced it and sent her another one just like it. Just shows one never really knows what goes on behind those postal doors!

This is what was inside the envelope and the special friend is the one who took the original photograph from inside her house looking out her window. Wonderful photograph that even shows the snowflakes on the bird.

Sweet Ornament Idea!

This Sweet idea was sent to me by a friend, Pam (photographer), her friend Les gave her the idea to put Nature into the clear Christmas ornament she had bought. This one has a fresh sprig of Rose Hips inside. Clear balls were bought at Hobby Lobby as a set.

Simple Pleasure

I bought this birdhouse last week at Hobby Lobby, half price of course. It caught my eye because of the colors. I put the Christmas bow on it and put it under my little lit tree on my front porch. Just a simple pleasure...

The Gander Girls!

Sharing my girls McButton & Lula, hate the hat wearing but love treats which follow the hat wearing! They are Scottish Terriers. Lula, the lighter one, is a hard to find wheaten in color. They, although being the same breed are very different in personality. I'm using this time and their photo to start this sharing blog, so this is learning in progress. I hope to share some of my favorite things in life so others may enjoy...
